Best Cheap Eats near your Energy Corridor Townhomes

Where’s your go-to spot for cheap eats near your community of Memorial apartments? We think it’s important to have a place to go to when you’ve put off going to the grocery store for too long, and it should be affordable enough so that you don’t have to necessarily sit down at a table to enjoy your food. If you agree, you’re in luck, because we’ve compiled a list of the to-rated affordable eateries in the neighborhood!

In this week’s post, we’re talking about four food spots that have awesome food at affordable prices. Without further delay, let’s dive into the post! When you’re done reading this week’s blog, please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at Alexan Ashford — the community of Energy Corridor townhomes Houston residents choose for luxury living.

Bao Bao Banh Mi

First up on our list is a little hole-in-the-wall that serves banh mis, rice dishes, noodle dishes and bulgogi fries. You can get hold or cold banh mis, and they’re jam-packed with meat, mayo and avocados and eggs if you want to add those extra ingredients. It’s a small shop, so we recommend grabbing your food to go.

Sam’s Burgers, Fries and Pies

Although Sam’s Burgers is one of the more affordable burger joints in the Energy Corridor, it doesn’t feel cheap when you step inside. This isn’t one of those small, greasy burger joints that serves wimpy burgers wrapped in foil. No, Sam’s Burgers serves big, well-crafted burgers in baskets with fries and plenty of extra toppings like fresh tomatoes, lettuce and pickles.

Every detail of the burger is done well. The buns are toasted and branded with the Sam’s logo. The bacon burgers are topped with super thick bacon that’s just-the-right-amount-of crispy so it snaps off when you bite into it. The patties themselves are filled with seasoning and cooked to perfection. Check this place out next time you need a cheap burger that’s not from a fast food restaurant!

Hang Out Asian Grill

You don’t have to go all the way to Chinatown for delicious, affordable Asian food. As you might expect from a place called “Hang Out Asian Grill” this place has a super friendly staff that will help you decide what to get if you’re not familiar with the menu items. For what it’s worth, we’ve heard good things about the calamari, the dumplings and the sesame shrimp.

Freddy’s Cafe

The next place o our list has a simple menu, but when you do simple in a spectacular way, you earn 5 star reviews on Yelp. At Freddy’s Cafe, you’ll find sandwiches, wraps, breakfast food, burgers and salads. Freddy’s isn’t open for dinner, so try to make it here before they close at 3:00. The food is a little on the greasy side, but it comes out fresh and the restaurant is super clean inside. Freddy’s Cafe also has a surprisingly diverse selection of healthy menu items, such as their grilled chicken goat cheese wrap wide a side of fruit!
