Your Memorial Apartments Talk Snacks at NRG Stadium
Your favorite community of Memorial apartments is back with another blog post for our beloved residents! This week, we’re talking about the amazing food at NRG Stadium.
We hope you’re able to go to NRG Stadium to watch the Texans march up and down the feel on a Sunday afternoon this fall. If you do manage to make it to a game, you’ll probably have a good time no matter what happens. That’s the joy of watching live football in one of the newest, most beautiful stadiums in America.
Of course, we all love watching the game at home, on the couch, with a big plate of snacks in front of us. When you go to the stadium, you can’t just show up in your pajamas and kick your feet up on the chair in front of you while you watch the game and check your fantasy scores. You have to be an actual person when you go to a game. It’s a bummer, we know.
On the bright side, NRG Stadium provides fans with awesome sightlines, big, comfortable seats and some of the best concessions of any NFL stadium. In fact, NRG Stadium’s food was ranked as the fifth best stadium food in the country by Orbitz.
We’d love for you to go investigate and find out if that claim holds up. In this week’s blog post, we’ll be discussing some of the most popular concession stands and dishes at NRG Stadium. Texans fans are lucky to be able to watch football while enjoying food from some of Houston’s top chefs and restaurants.
Check out the list of stadium below, and be sure to share this with any friends of yours who are obsessed with Houston Texans football. Oh, and remember this; your couch at your Energy Corridor townhomes will be waiting for you when you get back.
- The Jalapeno Cheddar Dog at Underbelly
Chef Chris Shepherd is one of the most respected chefs in Houston, and he’s also a huge Texans fan. The best dish at Underbelly is the spicy cheddar dog, but it’s the additions to the hot dog that make this dish special. It comes topped with Coca-Cola pickled onions and a side of tater tot casserole that will have your taste-buds screaming “TOUCHDOWN!”
- The Texans Chicken Stack at Grady’s Carvery
They call this the “No Bull” chicken stack, and we have to assume that’s because they weren’t messing around when they came up with it. This mouth-watering sandwich comes with candied bacon, smoked chicken, arugula, pepper jack cheese and cranberry mayo. Don’t settle for a hot dog — go big with the Texans Chicken Stack.
- Sliced Beef Sandwich at Goode Company Barbeque
This little concession stands does things right by smoking their beef right there in front of you while you wait in line. Once you smell that, you won’t be able to resist. People love the sandwiches at Goode Company because of the inventive jalapeno cheddar bread that makes every sandwich a masterpiece. If you’re thirsty after your spicy sandwich, try one of the seafood cocktails that has made this concession stand famous among season ticket holders.
