Romantic Recipes from your Energy Corridor Townhomes

What’s could be more romantic than cooking for your Valentine at your Energy Corridor townhomes? Not only will this give you the chance to show off your cooking skills, but you’ll also be able to save a ton of money by avoiding the expensive Valentine’s Day prices at that fancy restaurant down the road. Just buy some candles, get your nice white tablecloth out of the linen closet, and make sure everything looks just right for when your date arrives.

We want you Valentine’s Day to go off without a hitch, so we’ve created a list of simple Valentine’s Day recipes that you can use on February 14th. Check out the list below, and remember to share this blog with your neighbors at your Memorial apartments!

Flank Steak and Cucumber Salad

The key to making this steak dish is rubbing the steak with olive oil and salt before you throw it on the heat. Once you’ve rubbed the steak down, let it set for about 10 minutes before you put it on the stove. You can make the soy sauce mixture while you let the steak soak up the olive oil and salt. Nothing says romance like a big hunk of steak, and the cucumbers will compliment the red meat with a refreshing, crisp dash of veggie goodness.

  • Flank Steak
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Olive Oil
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Sesame Oil
  • Brown Sugar
  • Soy Sauce
  • Lime Juice
  • Asian Chili Paste
  • Cornstarch
  • Pickled Cucumbers

Grilled Chicken with Fresh Plum Salsa

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about salsa over the years, it’s that it always tastes better when you add other fruit to the mix. That holds true whether you’re adding pineapples, mangos or in this case, plums. When you’re buying ingredients for this dish, make sure you get the boneless chicken cutlets that will cook quickly and evenly. This dish shouldn’t take more than 30-minutes to make, so you’ll have plenty of time to clean and organize the rest of your home to get ready for your romantic evening. Our favorite thing about this dish is that it’s super healthy, so you’ll have plenty of room for a rich, chocolatey dessert after you finish the main course.

Grab these ingredients so you can get started

  • Ripe Plums
  • Jalapeno Pepper
  • Red Onion
  • Fresh Basil
  • Salt
  • Lime Juice
  • Brown Sugar
  • Chicken Cutlets
  • Olive Oil
  • Ground Cumin

Shrimp Destin Linguine

Add a little romance to your evening by serving an Italian seafood dish. Some of the fanciest restaurants in Houston are of the Italian variety, so you can attempt to recreate that experience in your apartment with this Shrimp Destin Linguine dish. We recommend adding some crushed red pepper to this dish after you plate it, so that the first couple bites deliver a little extra heat. Oh, and don’t be afraid to pile on the parmesan cheese! That’s one of the key ingredients to this delicious dish.

Grab these ingredients so you can get started

  • Large Raw Shrimp
  • Linguine
  • Butter
  • Olive Oil
  • Green Onions
  • Garlic Cloves
  • White Wine
  • Lemon Juice
  • Salt

  • Fresh Dill
  • Fresh Parsley
